The game in Istanbul was also quite interesting. Second ranked Darussafaka (20-8) played at the court of 5th ranked Galatasaray (14-14). Darussafaka defeated Galatasaray 91-76 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Darussafaka. Galatasaray was better in third quarter 20-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 17-of-21 free shots (81.0 percent) during the game. Darussafaka outrebounded Galatasaray 40-25 including 28 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of American point guard Jordan Farmar (188-86, college: UCLA) who helped to win the game recording 17 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists and Lithuanian Renaldas Seibutis (196-85) who added 19 points during the contest (made all of his nine free throws !!!). Darussafaka's coach Oktay Mahmudi used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side international point guard Ender Arslan (190-83) responded with 18 points and Serbian forward Vladimir Micov (201-85, agency: Beo Basket) scored 16 points. Four Galatasaray players scored in double figures. Darussafaka have a solid four-game winning streak. Newly promoted Darussafaka maintains second position with 20-8 record behind leader Fener.Ulker, which they share with Anadolu Efes. Loser Galatasaray dropped to the seventh place with 14 games lost. Darussafaka will face league's leader Fenerbahce Ulker in Istanbul in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Galatasaray's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Istanbul to the arena Istanbul BSB.
