Host team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 27-22. But Telekom Baskets won second period 20-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Crailsheim Merlins made 22-of-28 charity shots (78.6 percent) during the game. American point guard Jordan Callahan (184-90, college: Tulane) nailed 24 points and 6 assists for the winning side and the former international forward Konrad Wysocki (200-82, college: Princeton) accounted for 17 points and 7 rebounds. Lithuanian forward Tadas Klimavicius (204-82) came up with 21 points and 6 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) and American point guard Rotnei Clarke (183-89, college: Butler) added 12 points and 5 assists respectively for Telekom Baskets in the defeat. Five Crailsheim Merlins and four Telekom Baskets players scored in double figures. Telekom Baskets' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Crailsheim Merlins will play against Brose Baskets in Bamberg in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Telekom Baskets will play at home against Mitteldeutscher BC to get more than just one victory in their record.
