Regular Season Round 2: Speyer - Karlsruhe 80-90

There was no surprise when Speyer (0-2) was defeated at home by BG Karlsruhe (2-0) 90-80 on Saturday. Speyer was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was Rouven Roessler (198-80) who scored 24 points and 6 rebounds. American center Jeremy Black (203-85, college: Tampa, agency: Court Side) chipped in 22 points and 6 rebounds. Swingman Alexander Kuhn (198-92) produced 16 points and 8 rebounds and American guard DJ Woodmore (190-92, college: Va.Wesleyan) added 14 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. BG Karlsruhe will face Elchingen at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Speyer will play against USC Leipzig and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
