Regular Season Round 2: Bayreuth - Braunschweig 58-98

Date: October 7, 2015
BBC Bayreuth was not able to use a home court advantage and was outscored by the opponent from Braunschweig 98-58 on Wednesday night. The game without a history. Braunschweig led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 29-of-32 free shots (90.6 percent) during the game. Braunschweig outrebounded BBC Bayreuth 34-21 including a 29-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. BBC Bayreuth was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. The game was also dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was Keaton Grant (193-86, college: Purdue) who scored 19 points. Forward Tyrone Nash (203-88, college: Notre Dame) chipped in 10 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Five Braunschweig players scored in double figures. Guard Jake Odum (193-91, college: Indiana St.) produced 14 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists and forward Ken Horton (199-89, college: Cent.Conn.St.) added 13 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Braunschweig will face EnBW Ludwigsburg at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. BBC Bayreuth will play against EWE Baskets in Oldenburg and hope to win that game.
