Regular Season Round 3: Ratiopharm - Phoenix Hagen 95-73

There was a surprise result when ratiopharm Ulm (2-2) rolled over at home Phoenix Hagen (1-2) 95-73 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 4 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 4-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 95-73. ratiopharm Ulm dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Phoenix Hagen's 36. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. It was a good game for American guard DeAndre Kane (193-89, college: Iowa St.) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 15 rebounds and 9 assists. International point guard Per Guenther (185-88) contributed with 25 points and 8 assists for the winners. Four ratiopharm Ulm players scored in double figures. ratiopharm Ulm's coach felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. American power forward Ivan Elliott (203-86, college: UCSB) answered with 20 points and 7 rebounds and Canadian power forward Owen Klassen (208-91) added 7 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for Phoenix Hagen. ratiopharm Ulm will face Crailsheim Merlins (#13) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Phoenix Hagen will play against Giessen 46ers (#14) and hope to win that game.
