Regular Season Round 4: Bayer Giants - Hamburg 75-68

Bayer Giants has registered their first victory this season after two consecutive loses. They used home court advantage to defeat Hamburg (1-3) 75-68 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 1-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 75-68. Bayer Giants outrebounded Hamburg 48-34 including a 48-34 advantage in defensive rebounds. Center Dennis Heinzmann (216-91) chipped in a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds. Naturalized Ivorian guard Bazoumana Kone (190-93, college: Bremerhaven, agency: Octagon Europe) produced 12 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and center Stefan Schmidt (207-89) added 12 points and 8 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Hamburg's coach Hamed Attarbashi tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Bayer Giants (1-2) left bottom position moving up to tenth place, which they share with Baunach. It was Hamburg's third loss in a row. They dropped to the twelfth position with three games lost. They share it with 3 other teams. Bayer Giants will meet BV Chemnitz 99 (#14) on the road in the next round. Hamburg will play against SC Rasta Vechta and hope to win that game.
