Regular Season Round 4: Licher Baeren - Leipzig 83-85

Date: October 17, 2015
Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both eighth ranked USC Leipzig and 9th ranked Licher Basket had identical 1-2 record. But Licher Basket was not able to use a home court advantage and was edged by the opponent from Leipzig 85-83 on Saturday night. Licher Basket was plagued by 30 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Sascha Leutloff (202-82) who helped to win the game recording 24 points and 9 rebounds and American power forward Julian Scott (203-90, college: Adams St.) who added 18 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. Five USC Leipzig players scored in double figures. At the losing side American forward Lamar Mallory (201, college: Glenville St.) responded with 18 points and 8 rebounds and Spanish point guard Nil Angelats (185-93) scored 9 points and 6 assists. Licher Basket's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. USC Leipzig (2-2) moved-up to sixth place in South, which they share with Noerdlingen and Dresden. Licher Basket lost third consecutive game. They keep the ninth position with three games lost. USC Leipzig will face Giants (#6) in Noerdlingen in the next round. Licher Basket will play on the road against Titans in Dresden and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
