The most surprising game was the first loss of undefeated SG Schwelmer Baskets (2-1) at the home court on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by eleventh ranked Oldenburg (1-2) 82-71. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of SG Schwelmer Baskets. 25 personal fouls committed by SG Schwelmer Baskets helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Chris Gorman (180-93, college: Vanguard) who helped to win the game recording 22 points and 4 assists and center Kai Haenig (205-88, college: Missouri Valley) who added 11 points and 11 rebounds during the contest. Four Oldenburg players scored in double figures. At the losing side Croatian point guard Zeljko Novak (184-89) responded with 20 points (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) and center Sebastian Schroter (207-83) scored 16 points. SG Schwelmer Baskets' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Oldenburg left bottom position moving up to ninth place in North. SG Schwelmer Baskets at the other side dropped to the fourth position with one game lost. Oldenburg are looking forward to face Recklinghausen (#12) on the road in the next round. SG Schwelmer Baskets will play against Rostock (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
