Very important is a road loss of second ranked Itzehoe (2-2) against eleventh ranked Hertener Loewen (1-3) on Saturday night. Visiting Itzehoe was defeated by Hertener Loewen in Herten 90-78. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Itzehoe. It was a very good performance for Canadian guard Justin Dennis (185-87, college: CSU Bakersfield) who helped to win the game recording 18 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists. American guard Deandre Lansdowne (187-89, college: Fort Lewis) contributed with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Dennis is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Swingman Adrian Breitlauch (193-93) replied with 16 points and 9 rebounds and American guard Courtney Belger (187-89, college: Quincy) added 16 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Itzehoe. Five Hertener Loewen and four Itzehoe players scored in double figures. Itzehoe's coach Patrick Elzie let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Hertener Loewen left bottom position moving up to tenth place in North, which they share with Bochum. Itzehoe at the other side dropped to the fifth position with two games lost. Hertener Loewen's next round opponent will be higher ranked SC Rist Wedel (#6) on the road and it may be quite challenging game. Itzehoe will play against the league's leader Artland Dragons having rather not much hope for a victory.
