Regular Season Round 6: Vechta - Nuernberg 91-60

The most important game in the last round took place in Vechta between third ranked Nuernberg (4-2) and ninth ranked SC Rasta Vechta (4-2) on Saturday night. Nuernberg was crushed by SC Rasta Vechta on the road 60-91. The game without a history. SC Rasta Vechta led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Nuernberg's 26. SC Rasta Vechta forced 24 Nuernberg turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Nuernberg's players. It was a good game for naturalized Filipino forward Christian Standhardinger (203-89, college: Hawaii) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds. American forward Derrick Allen (203-80, college: Mississippi) contributed with 15 points for the winners. Forward Michael Fleischmann (205-86) replied with 11 points and American forward Dan Oppland (203-84, college: Valparaiso) added 8 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Nuernberg. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. SC Rasta Vechta moved-up to third place, which they share with Nuernberg and Koeln Rh.Stars. SC Rasta Vechta is looking forward to face Finke Baskets (#11) in Paderborn in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Nuernberg will play on the road against Gladiators (#7) in Trier and is hoping to win this game.
