Regular Season Round 8: Rasai - Nafta-Uni. 73-82

Everything could happen in Raseiniai at the game between two tied teams. Both eleventh ranked Nafta-Uni. and 12th ranked Rasai had identical 2-5 record. But Rasai was not able to use a home court advantage and was defeated by the opponent from Klaipeda 82-73. It looked good early as Rasai took a 2-point small lead at the end of first quarter. Then Nafta-Uni. had a 23-14 second period charge getting the lead and Rasai was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 73-82. Nafta-Uni. dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Rasai's 38. They outrebounded Rasai 39-21 including a 28-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was forward Rytis Biliartas (200-91) who had a double-double by scoring 19 points and 15 rebounds. Point guard Mindaugas Stasys (180-86) chipped in 16 points and 4 assists. Four Nafta-Uni. players scored in double figures. Forward Augustinas Jankaitis (205-94) produced 15 points and 9 rebounds and forward Valdemaras Savostjanovas (200-84) added 16 points respectively for the hosts. Nafta-Uni. (3-5) moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Silute and Delikatesas. Rasai lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the eleventh position with six games lost. Nafta-Uni.'s next round opponent will be higher ranked Petrochema (#7) in Jonava and it may be quite challenging game. Rasai will play on the road against Ezerunas-Karys (#12) in Moletai and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
