Second ranked Science City Jena (6-1) crushed at home 15th ranked White Wings (1-6) by 16 points 77-61, which is the biggest margin this round. It looked good early as White Wings took a 11-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Science City Jena took control and eventually winning the game that evening by 16 points. They also forced 22 White Wings turnovers. Science City Jena players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. 27 personal fouls committed by White Wings helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Immanuel McElroy (194-80, college: Cincinnati) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Forward Julius Wolf (202-93) contributed with 17 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Four Science City Jena players scored in double figures. Forward Robin Christen (202-91) answered with 18 points and 7 rebounds and American guard Miles Jackson-Cartwright (190-92, college: Pennsylvania) added 14 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for White Wings. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Science City Jena have a solid series of three victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Gotha. Newly promoted White Wings keep the fifteenth place with six games lost. Science City Jena's next round opponent will be ETB Wohnbau (#14) in Essen which should be an easy win for them. White Wings will play at home against Koeln Rh.Stars and hope to win that game.
