Turk Telekom can celebrate their first win this season after three consecutive loses. The victory is especially important as it came on the road game in Istanbul, where they defeated Istanbul BSB (0-4) 84-80. Strangely Istanbul BSB outrebounded Turk Telekom 42-27 including a 19-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. American-Georgian point guard Ben Woodside (180-85, college: N.Dakota St., agency: Priority Sports) nailed 19 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists for the winning side and American guard Michael Jenkins (193-86, college: Winthrop) accounted for 17 points. Turk Telekom's coach Ercument Sunter used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. The former international center Cemal Nalga (213-87, agency: Beo Basket) came up with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 14 rebounds and Swedish-Croatian power forward Damir Markota (209-85, agency: XL Basketball Agency) added 13 points and 7 rebounds respectively for Istanbul BSB in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Turk Telekom (1-3) left bottom position moving up to thirteenth place. It was Istanbul BSB's fourth loss in a row. They still close the standings with four games lost. Turk Telekom's next round opponent will be bottom-ranked Trabzonspor (#16) at home. Istanbul BSB will play against Yesilgiresun in Giresun and hopes to get finally their first victory.
