Regular Season Round 9: Hamburg - Hanau 69-59

Very predictable result when fourth ranked Hamburg (6-3) won against at home 15th ranked White Wings (2-7) 69-59 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Hamburg. White Wings was better in second period 16-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded White Wings 40-29 including a 40-29 advantage in defensive rebounds. White Wings were plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for naturalized American swingman Travis Warech (190-91, college: Ithaca) who led his team to a victory with 20 points and 5 rebounds. American forward Jonathon Williams (198-90, college: Wagner) contributed with 5 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. American guard Miles Jackson-Cartwright (190-92, college: Pennsylvania) answered with 17 points and point guard Till-Joscha Joenke (190-92) added 12 points in the effort for White Wings. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Hamburg. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Kirchheim and Gotha. Newly promoted White Wings dropped to the fourteenth position with seven games lost. Hamburg will face Kirchheim Knights (#5) on the road in the next round. White Wings will play against Gladiators (#10) and hope to win that game.
