Regular Season Round 7: Weissenhorn - Speyer 79-86

Speyer has finally registered their first victory this season after six consecutive loses. The win is especially important as they defeated much higher ranked Weissenhorn Youngstars (3-4) on the road game in Weissenhorn 86-79 on Sunday. Weissenhorn Youngstars were plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for American center Khobi Williamson (201-92, college: Hampden-Sydney) who led his team to a victory scoring 22 points and 8 rebounds. His fellow American import guard DJ Woodmore (190-92, college: Va.Wesleyan) helped adding 15 points and 7 rebounds. At the losing side center Tom Alte (205-95) responded with 17 points and 8 rebounds and American point guard Christopher Anderson (170-92, college: San Diego) scored 12 points, 5 rebounds, 9 assists and 4 steals. Four Weissenhorn Youngstars players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Speyer maintains twelfth place in South with 1-6 record. It was Weissenhorn Youngstars' third loss in a row. They keep the sixth position with four games lost. Speyer will face higher ranked Giants (#6) in Noerdlingen in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
