We should mention about the upset which took place in Bayreuth, where higher ranked Telekom Baskets (5-3) lost to thirteenth ranked BBC Bayreuth (3-5) in a road game 64-77 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by BBC Bayreuth. Telekom Baskets was better in second period 24-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. BBC Bayreuth looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was American forward Ken Horton (199-89, college: Cent.Conn.St.) who scored 25 points and 9 rebounds. Forward Steve Wachalski (202-83) chipped in a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds. Five BBC Bayreuth players scored in double figures. American Aaron White (206-92, college: Iowa) produced 21 points and 7 rebounds and Lithuanian forward Tadas Klimavicius (204-82) added 13 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the guests. BBC Bayreuth moved-up to tenth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Telekom Baskets dropped to the eighth position with three games lost. BBC Bayreuth will face league's second-placed EnBW Ludwigsburg at home in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
