Regular Season Round 10: Dragons - Bayer Giants 91-64

Dragons Rhoendorf has finally registered their first victory this season after nine consecutive losses. They used home court advantage to defeat Bayer Giants (2-8) 91-64 on Saturday. The game without a history. Dragons Rhoendorf led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. American point guard Sterling Carter (183-90, college: Purdue) scored 31 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import forward Antoine Davis (195-91, college: Carson-Newman) chipped in 23 points during the contest. At the losing side American guard Drew Brandon (193-92, college: E.Washington) responded with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 13 rebounds and 7 assists and center Dennis Heinzmann (216-91) scored 6 points, 8 rebounds and 4 blocks. Four Bayer Giants players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Newly promoted Dragons Rhoendorf maintains sixteenth position with 1-9 record. It was Bayer Giants' fourth loss in a row. They keep the fifteenth place with eight games lost. Dragons Rhoendorf are looking forward to face higher ranked Gladiators (#12) in Trier in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Bayer Giants will play at home against White Wings and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
