Very important is a road loss of third ranked Elchingen (5-4) against fourth ranked USC Leipzig (6-3) on Saturday night. Visiting Elchingen was defeated by USC Leipzig in a tough game in Leipzig 84-92. USC Leipzig made 31-of-36 free shots (86.1 percent) during the game, while Elchingen only scored fourteen points from the stripe. USC Leipzig looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. American guard Brandon Shingles (190-87, college: Morehead St.) nailed a double-double by scoring 22 points, 11 rebounds and 8 assists for the winning side and his fellow American import power forward Julian Scott (203-90, college: Adams St.) accounted for 24 points, 11 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. Naturalized Bosnian forward Mario Simic (198-83) came up with 13 points and American power forward Edward Williams (200-80, college: NC-Wilmington) added 12 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Elchingen in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Elchingen's coach Dario Jerkic rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. USC Leipzig moved-up to third place in South. Elchingen lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the fourth position with four games lost. They share it with Weissenhorn and Fraport SKY II. USC Leipzig will meet Weissenhorn Youngstars (#4) on the road in the next round. Elchingen will play against the league's leader Ehingen/Urspringschule and hope to secure a win.
