Date: November 21, 2015
There was no surprise when 12th ranked Speyer (1-8) was outleveled by seventh ranked Fraport Skyliners II (5-4) in Frankfurt 89-68 on Saturday. Fraport Skyliners II dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Speyer's 34. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Speyer's players. It was a good game for Johannes Richter (206-93) who led his team to a victory with 17 points and 8 rebounds. Niklas Kiel (207-97, agency: Octagon Europe) contributed with 13 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Five Fraport Skyliners II players scored in double figures. American guard DJ Woodmore (190-92, college: Va.Wesleyan) answered with 20 points and 6 rebounds and the other American import center Khobi Williamson (201-92, college: Hampden-Sydney) added 9 points in the effort for Speyer. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Fraport Skyliners II moved-up to fourth place in South, which they share with Elchingen and Weissenhorn. Loser Speyer keeps the twelfth position with eight games lost. Fraport Skyliners II will face Wuerzburg (#9) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Speyer will play against Licher Basket and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
