Regular Season Round 14: Suduva-Mantinga - Perlas-MRU 88-66

NKL top team - Suduva-Mantinga (11-3) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they crushed seventh ranked Perlas-MRU (7-7) in Marijampole 88-66. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Perlas-MRU. The game without a history. Suduva-Mantinga led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They outrebounded Perlas-MRU 44-27 including a 29-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Suduva-Mantinga especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 55.0 percentage. Paulius Vaitiekunas (204-92, agency: Octagon Europe) orchestrated the victory by scoring 8 points and 17 rebounds. Forward Donatas Sabeckis (197-92) contributed with 15 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Four Suduva-Mantinga players scored in double figures. Swingman Tautvydas Pipiras (198-93) replied with 16 points and Rimantas Daunys (204-97) added 9 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Perlas-MRU. Perlas-MRU's coach Arvydas Gronskis gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Suduva-Mantinga maintains first position with 11-3 record. Perlas-MRU at the other side keeps the seventh place with seven games lost. They share the position with Nafta-Uni. and Telsiai. Suduva-Mantinga are looking forward to face Zalgiris II (#4) in Kaunas in the next round. Perlas-MRU will play at home against Rasai and is hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
