Regular Season Round 11: Bayer Giants - Hanau 88-76 OT

Bayer Giants (3-8) survived in overtime against White Wings (3-8) by twelve points 88-76 on Sunday night. The game was mostly controlled by Bayer Giants. White Wings managed to win second period 18-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening, at least not yet. The game turned upside-down in the last quarter, where White Wings used huge pressure winning it 18-15 getting a tie at the end of regular time. They lost eventually overtime period 6-18. Bayer Giants looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Bayer Giants made 12 blocks. It was a great evening for American guard Drew Brandon (193-92, college: E.Washington) who led his team to a victory scoring 24 points, 8 rebounds and 9 assists. Point guard Michael Kuczmann (193-93) helped adding 22 points. American forward Kruize Pinkins (201-93, college: USF) responded with 27 points and 9 rebounds and forward Robin Christen (202-91) scored 14 points and 5 rebounds. Bayer Giants moved-up to fourteenth place, which they share with Hanau. Bayer Giants will meet league's second-placed SC Rasta Vechta on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. White Wings will play against BV Chemnitz 99 (#7) and hope to secure a win.
