Regular Season Round 7: BC Odessa - Halychyna 68-83

Bottom-ranked BC Odessa (0-6) is still winless. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their sixth consecutive match to second ranked Halychyna (5-1) 83-68 on Friday evening. It was a very close game until the last quarter, when Halychyna's pressure prevailed and they won that period 22-13 extending their advantage to 15 points. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a great evening for American guard Larry Hall (190-83, college: W.Oregon) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 9 rebounds and 12 assists. Point guard Illya Shemosiuk (188-85) helped adding 17 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. At the losing side center Vadim Matyukevych (209-80) responded with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds and forward Mykhaylo Galenko (186-92) scored 8 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists. Halychyna have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain second place with 5-1 record behind leader Dnipro. BC Odessa at the other side still closes the standings with six games lost. Halychyna are looking forward to face Khortytsia (#7) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. BC Odessa will play against Hoverla and hopes to get finally their first victory.
