Regular Season Round 12: Dragons - Jena 73-96

ProA top team - Science City Jena (11-1) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed sixteenth ranked Dragons Rhoendorf (1-11) 96-73. The game without a history. Science City Jena led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Science City Jena forced 31 Dragons Rhoendorf turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. Dragons Rhoendorf was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a quality performance of forward Julius Wolf (202-93) who helped to win the game recording 15 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and American guard Jelani Hewitt (188-91, college: Georgia South) who added 11 points and 5 assists during the contest. Science City Jena's coach Bjoern Harmsen felt very confident that he used 10 players and allowed the starting five to rest. The best for the losing side was point guard Viktor Frankl-Maus (186-93) with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 assists and power forward Robin Lodders (203-94) scored 14 points and 8 rebounds. Five Science City Jena and four Dragons Rhoendorf players scored in double figures. Science City Jena have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 11-1 record. Newly promoted Dragons Rhoendorf stay at the bottom place with 11 games lost. Science City Jena will play against Bayer Giants (#15) in Leverkusen in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Dragons Rhoendorf will play on the road against Hamburg to get more than just one victory in their record.
