No shocking result in a game when tenth ranked Licher Basket (4-6) outleveled on the road 12th ranked Speyer (1-9) 91-62 on Saturday. Licher Basket forced 20 Speyer turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. American power forward Lamar Mallory (198-90, college: Glenville St., agency: Warren Sports International) scored 19 points and 6 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Spanish point guard Nil Angelats (185-93) chipped in 11 points and 9 assists during the contest. Mallory is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas. At the losing side American center Khobi Williamson (201-92, college: Hampden-Sydney) responded with 19 points and Nigerian forward Onochie Ochie (198-92, college: SE Louisiana) scored 16 points and 8 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Licher Basket moved-up to eighth place in South, which they share with Dresden and Wuerzburg. Speyer lost third consecutive game. They keep the twelfth position with nine games lost. Licher Basket will face league's second-placed Ehingen/Urspringschule in Allmendingen in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Speyer will play at home against Elchingen (#4) and hope to win that game.
