The most surprising game was another loss of top-ranked ALBA Berlin (16-3) at the home court on Sunday night. Hosts were defeated by seventeenth ranked Eisbaeren Bremerhaven (3-16) 80-69. The game was mostly controlled by Eisbaeren Bremerhaven. ALBA Berlin managed to win third quarter 18-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Eisbaeren Bremerhaven made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. American point guard Kyle Fogg (190-90, college: Arizona) scored 24 points to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import point guard Jerry Smith (188-87, college: Louisville) chipped in 13 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Four Eisbaeren Bremerhaven players scored in double figures. At the losing side American point guard Will Cherry (185-91, college: Montana) responded with 16 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals and Serbian guard Dragan Milosavljevic (198-89) scored 19 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Eisbaeren Bremerhaven moved-up to sixteenth place, which they share with Goettingen. ALBA Berlin at the other side dropped to the second position with three games lost. Eisbaeren Bremerhaven is looking forward to face higher ranked Crailsheim Merlins (#15) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. ALBA Berlin will play against Deutsche Bank Skyliners (#4) having rather not much hope for a victory.
