Rather predictable result in Frankfurt where fifth ranked Deutsche Bank Skyliners (15-4) defeated 8th ranked Braunschweig (10-9) 70-59 on Sunday. Braunschweig was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Deutsche Bank Skyliners forced 24 Braunschweig turnovers. Braunschweig was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. International center Johannes Voigtmann (210-92) scored 17 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and American point guard Jordan Theodore (182-89, college: Seton Hall) chipped in 12 points and 4 assists during the contest. At the losing side American Keaton Grant (193-86, college: Purdue) responded with 22 points and his fellow American import point guard Derek Needham (180-90, college: Fairfield) scored 17 points. Braunschweig's coach Raoul Korner let to play eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Deutsche Bank Skyliners have an impressive seven-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place. Loser Braunschweig keeps the eighth position with nine games lost. Deutsche Bank Skyliners will face league's second-placed ALBA Berlin at home in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Braunschweig will play against Mitteldeutscher BC (#18) and hope to win that game.
