The game in Weissenhorn was also quite interesting. Third ranked USC Leipzig (7-3) played at the court of 5th ranked Weissenhorn Youngstars (5-5). USC Leipzig managed to secure a 6-point victory 95-89 on Sunday. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Weissenhorn Youngstars. Weissenhorn Youngstars were plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. American power forward Julian Scott (203-90, college: Adams St.) scored 36 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and forward Sascha Leutloff (202-82) chipped in 14 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists during the contest. Four USC Leipzig players scored in double figures. At the losing side power forward Nils Mittmann (201-79) responded with 23 points and 5 assists and naturalized Austrian point guard David Kramer (191-97) scored 22 points and 6 rebounds. Weissenhorn Youngstars' coach let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. USC Leipzig maintains third position in South with 7-3 record having just two points less than leader Karlsruhe. Loser Weissenhorn Youngstars keep the fifth place with five games lost. USC Leipzig will face Wuerzburg (#9) at home in the next round where they are favorite. Weissenhorn Youngstars will play against Giants (#6) in Noerdlingen and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
