Regular Season Round 11: TuSLi Berlin - Neuss 53-79

An interesting game for TG Neuss (8-2) which played road game in Lichterfelde against 4th placed TuSLi Berlin (5-4). Second ranked TG Neuss had an easy win 79-53. The game without a history. TG Neuss led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding TuSLi Berlin to just 7 points in first quarter. TG Neuss dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to TuSLi Berlin's 28 and made 16-of-21 charity shots (76.2 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for American guard Marquita Waller (180-88, college: VCU) who led her team to a victory scoring 18 points, 5 assists and 4 steals. Power forward Jana Heinrich (188-86, college: San Diego St.) helped adding 18 points and 6 rebounds. Lena Gohlisch (173-93) responded with 14 points and Annalena Blume (180-96) scored 8 points and 5 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. TG Neuss have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain second place in North with 8-2 record having four points less than leader Bad Aibling. TuSLi Berlin lost third consecutive game. They keep the fourth position with four games lost. They share it with Opladen. TG Neuss will play against B.Loewen (#11) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. TuSLi Berlin will play against Wolfpack Wolfenbuettel (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
