Very predictable result when fourth ranked Perlas-MRU (12-8) won against 10th ranked Nafta-Uni. (8-12) in Vilnius 76-69. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Nafta-Uni. won third quarter 24-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Perlas-MRU won last quarter 21-16. Perlas-MRU outrebounded Nafta-Uni. 52-25 including a 22-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. Nafta-Uni. was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of swingman Tautvydas Pipiras (198-93) who helped to win the game recording 22 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Rytis Pipiras (201-95) who added 6 points and 14 rebounds during the contest. Forward Rytis Biliartas (200-91) responded with 12 points and 9 rebounds and point guard Mindaugas Stasys (180-86) scored 14 points and 6 assists. Five Nafta-Uni. players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Perlas-MRU maintains fourth position with 12-8 record, which they share with Palanga. Nafta-Uni. at the other side dropped to the ninth place with 12 games lost. They share the position with Silute and Delikatesas. Perlas-MRU will play against Zalgiris II (#6) in Kaunas in the next round. Nafta-Uni. will play on the road against Palanga and hopes to get back on the winning track.
