Regular Season Round 12: Iserlohn - Wolfenbuettel 73-59

ProB round 12 caused change at the leadership position. Fourth defeat of league's leader Herzoege Wolfenbuettel (8-4) against second ranked Iserlohn (9-3) 73-59 was the most important game of the last round. It was a key game for the top position in North. Iserlohn dominated down low during the game scoring 36 of its points in the paint compared to Herzoege Wolfenbuettel's 16. It was a good game for center Marcel Kessen (207-97, agency: Octagon Europe) who led his team to a victory with 17 points and 6 rebounds. Guard Yannick Opitz (186-90) contributed with 17 points (perfect from downtown making all five shots) for the winners. Power forward Sid-Marlon Theis (204-93) replied with 19 points and point guard Tobias Welzel (183-90) added 11 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists in the effort for Herzoege Wolfenbuettel. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Iserlohn keeps a position of North leader. Newly promoted Herzoege Wolfenbuettel dropped to the third place with four games lost. They share the position with Oldenburg. They were replaced at the leadership position by Iserlohn. Herzoege Wolfenbuettel will play next round against Hertener Loewen trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Iserlohn will try to continue on its current victory against second ranked Oldenburg on the road.
