There was no surprise in Hanau where 12th ranked White Wings (5-9) were defeated by eighth ranked MLP Academics Heidelberg (7-6) 65-55 on Saturday. The game without a history. MLP Academics Heidelberg led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. The best player for the winners was American guard Marcos Knight (188-89, college: Middle Tenn.St.) who scored 15 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. The other American import forward Devin White (203-88, college: SUNO) chipped in 8 points and 11 rebounds. point guard Till-Joscha Joenke (190-92) produced 15 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Robin Christen (202-91) added 16 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the hosts. MLP Academics Heidelberg have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Koeln Rh.Stars. Newly promoted White Wings dropped to the thirteenth position with nine games lost. MLP Academics Heidelberg will face Bayer Giants (#15) in Leverkusen in the next round and are hoping to win another game. White Wings will play on the road against Nuernberg in Nurnberg and hope to win that game.
