Regular Season Round 12: CSU Sibiu - BC Timisoara 77-67

The game between sixth ranked CSU Sibiu (8-4) and 11th ranked BC Timisoara (1-11) in Sibiu ended with biggest points difference. CSU Sibiu beat guests from Timisoara 77-67. It looked good early as BC Timisoara took a 4-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then CSU Sibiu had a 21-13 second period charge getting the lead and BC Timisoara was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 67-77. CSU Sibiu dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to BC Timisoara's 32. The best player for the winners was Montenegrin center Boris Lalovic (208-81) who scored 23 points and 6 rebounds. Forward Cornel Cioacata (197-92) chipped in 11 points and 5 rebounds. Four CSU Sibiu players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Serbian power forward Dalibor Djapa (205-84, agency: 011 Sports) who recorded 19 points and Bahamas forward Kentwan Smith (203-91, college: Stetson) added 13 points and 6 rebounds respectively. CSU Sibiu moved-up to fourth place. BC Timisoara lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the eleventh position with 11 games lost. CSU Sibiu's next round opponent will be league's leader Steaua CSM in Bucuresti and it may be the game of the week. BC Timisoara will play at home against the league's second-placed Oradea (#2) and hope to win that game.
