The game between closely ranked teams ended with seventh ranked Weissenhorn Youngstars' (5-6) home victory over 8th ranked Titans (5-6) 100-81 on Sunday. Weissenhorn Youngstars made 22-of-27 free shots (81.5 percent) during the game. They shot the lights out from three sinking 16 long-distance shots on high 59.3 percentage. Weissenhorn Youngstars looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Titans were plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for naturalized Austrian point guard David Kramer (191-97) who led his team to a victory with 29 points. Power forward Nils Mittmann (201-79) contributed with 14 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. American power forward David Sturner (206-90, college: S.Oregon) replied with 26 points (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) and forward Walter Simon (202-89, college: Cumberland) added 16 points in the effort for Titans. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Weissenhorn Youngstars maintains seventh position in South with 5-6 record, which they share with Dresden. Weissenhorn Youngstars will face higher ranked USC Leipzig (#3) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
