Regular Season Round 21: Telsiai - Vytis 75-77

The most exciting game of round 21 in the NKL took place in Telsiu. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of 8th ranked Telsiai (10-11) to third ranked Vytis (14-7) 77-75 on Friday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. Telsiai was trailing by 4 points at halftime but managed to get 4-point lead after three quarters before a 21-15 charge of Vytis, which allowed them to win the game. Guard Paulius Beliavicius (194-88) stepped up and scored 27 points for the winners and guard Dominykas Domarkas (187-92) chipped in 12 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists. Four Vytis players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was power forward Mindaugas Norkus (200-85) with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds and guard Laurynas Kaveckis (190-90) scored 16 points and 7 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Vytis have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain third place with 14-7 record having four points less than leader Suduva-Mantinga. Newly promoted Telsiai keeps the eighth position with 11 games lost. Vytis are looking forward to face Perlas-MRU (#4) in Vilnius in the next round. Telsiai will play on the road against Lietkabelis-2 (#14) in Panevezys and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
