Regular Season Round 16: Neptunas - Dzukija 76-71

Very expected game in Klaipeda where 10th ranked Dzukija (1-12) was defeated by sixth ranked Neptunas (7-7) 76-71. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Dzukija was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. The winners were led by American Daniel Ewing (191-83, college: Duke) who scored that evening 23 points and 4 assists and the other American import power forward Jerai Grant (203-89, college: Clemson) supported him with 19 points and 9 rebounds (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field). Even 20 points and 4 assists by American forward Jeff Robinson (198-88, college: Seton Hall) did not help to save the game for Dzukija. Point guard Linas Lekavicius (186-84, college: his fellow American import) added 9 points and 8 assists for lost side. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Neptunas moved-up to fifth place. Dzukija lost tenth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 12 games lost. Neptunas will play against higher ranked Juventus (#3) in Utena in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Dzukija will play at home against the league's leader Zalgiris (#1) to get more than just one victory in their record.
