Regular Season Round 13: Elchingen - Wuerzburg 65-71

There was a surprise result when ninth ranked Wuerzburg (6-7) won against on the road 4th placed Elchingen (7-6) 71-65 on Sunday. Elchingen was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Forward Felix Hoffmann (195-89) stepped up and scored 19 points and 7 rebounds for the winners and point guard Constantin Ebert (185-96) chipped in 11 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Five Wuerzburg players scored in double figures. At the losing side naturalized Polish Kevin Wysocki (200-87, agency: Octagon Europe) responded with 12 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and forward Brian Butler (194-91, agency: Mansfield and Associates) scored 16 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Wuerzburg moved-up to eighth place in South. Newly promoted Elchingen dropped to the fifth position with six games lost. Wuerzburg will face Saarlouis (#11) at home in the next round. Elchingen will play against Licher Basket (#10) and hope to win that game.
