Very expected game in Frankfurt where 11th ranked Giessen 46ers (5-8) were defeated by sixth ranked Deutsche Bank Skyliners (9-4) 66-55 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Deutsche Bank Skyliners. Giessen 46ers managed to win third quarter 22-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Giessen 46ers 43-25 including 31 on the defensive glass. American guard Quantez Robertson (188-84, college: Auburn) fired 20 points for the winners. His fellow American import forward Mike Morrison (205-89, college: George Mason, agency: Interperformances) chipped in 6 points and 13 rebounds. Robertson is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American guard Braydon Hobbs (196-89, college: Bellarmine) produced 13 points and 4 assists and naturalized Cuban swingman Yorman Polas (192-85) added 13 points respectively for lost side. Giessen 46ers' coach Denis Wucherer let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Deutsche Bank Skyliners moved-up to fifth place, which they share with B.Muenchen and EWE Baskets. Newly promoted Giessen 46ers keep the eleventh position with eight games lost. They share it with Telekom Bsk. Deutsche Bank Skyliners will meet BBC Bayreuth (#14) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Giessen 46ers will play against Mitteldeutscher BC and hope to secure a win.
