We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when 16th ranked BG Goettingen (3-11) was rolled over at home by seventeenth ranked Eisbaeren Bremerhaven (3-11) 99-77 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by Eisbaeren Bremerhaven. BG Goettingen was better in second period 26-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Eisbaeren Bremerhaven made 22-of-25 free shots (88.0 percent) during the game. BG Goettingen was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. The game was dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was point guard Kyle Fogg (190-90, college: Arizona) who scored 35 points (!!!) (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!). BG Goettingen's coach gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Eisbaeren Bremerhaven moved-up to sixteenth place, which they share with Goettingen. Eisbaeren Bremerhaven will face higher ranked EWE Baskets (#6) in Oldenburg in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
