Regular Season Round 14: Naestved - Svendborg 70-69

The most exciting game of round 14 in the Ligaen took place in Naestved. This derby game ended with only one-point defeat on the road of one of their biggest challengers Svendborg (8-7) to third ranked Naestved (9-4) 70-69 in the game for the third place. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Svendborg. The hosts trailed by 3 points at the halftime before their 38-34 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. American guard Caleb Walker (193-89, college: Nebraska) saved the victory by scoring 23 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. The other American import point guard Troy Franklin (183-89, college: Coppin St.) contributed with 15 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Argentinian-Italian point guard Antonio Porta (187-83, agency: Players Group) replied with 16 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals and American guard Brandon Rozzell (188-89, college: VCU) added 13 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Svendborg. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Naestved maintains third position with 9-4 record having six points less than leader Horsens IC. Svendborg at the other side keeps the fourth place with seven games lost. Naestved are looking forward to face bottom-ranked SISU (#8) in Copenhagen in the next round where they are favorite. Svendborg will play at home against Horsholm (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
