Leader Brose Baskets delivered the fourteenth victory. This time they crushed 12th ranked Telekom Baskets (6-11) 109-72 in Bamberg. The game without a history. Brose Baskets led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Telekom Baskets' 26 and made 26-of-32 charity shots (81.3 percent) during the game, while Telekom Baskets only scored ten points from the stripe. They outrebounded Telekom Baskets 42-23 including a 30-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Brose Baskets players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. They brought some defensive toughness making 8 blocks. Telekom Baskets were plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. International Daniel Theis (204-92, agency: Octagon Europe) orchestrated the victory by scoring 19 points and 9 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). Italian Nicolo Melli (205-91) contributed with 20 points and 7 rebounds (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!) for the winners. American point guard Langston Hall (193-91, college: Mercer) answered with 13 points and 5 assists and the other American import Aaron White (206-92, college: Iowa) added 12 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Telekom Baskets. Five Brose Baskets and four Telekom Baskets players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Brose Baskets (14-2) have an impressive series of twelve victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place. Telekom Baskets lost third consecutive game. They keep the twelfth position with 11 games lost. They share it with Bayreuth. Brose Baskets will play against BG Goettingen (#17) at home in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Telekom Baskets will play against ratiopharm Ulm (#8) and hope to get back on the winning track.
