Regular Season Round 24: Ezerunas-Karys - Petrochema 75-85

Very predictable result when eighth ranked Petrochema (12-13) won against 13th ranked Ezerunas-Karys (6-17) in Moletai 85-75 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 5 points after three quarters before their 29-14 charge, which allowed them to win the game. The winners were led by point guard Tadas Sebeziovas (185-85) who scored that evening 21 points and forward Henrikas Vorotnikovas (203-90) supported him with 13 points and 10 rebounds. Five Petrochema players scored in double figures. Petrochema's coach Kestutis Narusevicius used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 22 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists by point guard Evaldas Rastenis (184-89) did not help to save the game for Ezerunas-Karys. Center Edgaras Sosnovskis (206-91) added 13 points and 9 rebounds. Petrochema moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Telsiai. Ezerunas-Karys lost eighth consecutive game. They keep the thirteenth position with 17 games lost. Petrochema will meet at home higher ranked Zalgiris II (#6) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Ezerunas-Karys will play against Nafta-Uni. (#9) and hope to secure a win.
