Regular Season Round 21: Dzukija - Neptunas 58-55

Very important is a road loss of third ranked Neptunas (10-9) against tenth ranked Dzukija (4-15) on Sunday night. Visiting Neptunas was edged by Dzukija in a tough game in Alytus 55-58. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Neptunas. Neptunas was ahead by 2 points at the halftime before a 20-9 third quarter run of Dzukija. They outrebounded Neptunas 49-35 including a 37-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. American forward Jeff Robinson (198-88, college: Seton Hall) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 14 rebounds for the winners and Polish center Adam Lapeta (217-87, agency: Alti Sport) chipped in 8 points and 12 rebounds. The best for the losing side was American Daniel Ewing (191-83, college: Duke) with 11 points and 5 rebounds and forward Donatas Zavackas (203-80, college: Pittsburgh) scored 11 points and 7 rebounds. Four Neptunas players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Dzukija maintains tenth place with 4-15 record. Neptunas at the other side keeps the third position with nine games lost. They share it with Juventus. Dzukija will play against higher ranked Nevezis (#8) in Kedainiai in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Neptunas will play at home against Lietkabelis (#7) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
