Regular Season Round 12: Levski - NSA Delta 67-50

Another interesting game was a derby match between two teams from Sofia: Levski (#7) and NSA Delta (#8). Levski (3-8) smashed visiting NSA Delta (0-12) by 17 points 67-50. It looked good early as NSA Delta took a 7-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Levski had a 21-11 second period charge getting the lead and NSA Delta was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 50-67. Levski dominated down low during the game scoring 44 of its points in the paint compared to NSA Delta's 20. Levski forced 33 NSA Delta turnovers. It was a good game for swingman Petya Boyadjieva (178-98) who led her team to a victory with 20 points and 7 steals. Swingman Yolanda Cossa (170-95) contributed with 10 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Levski's coach Tatyana Gateva used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Swingman Martina Nikolova (179-94) replied with 16 points and 5 rebounds and swingman Maria Svetoslavova (179-93) added 11 points and 11 rebounds in the effort for NSA Delta. Levski moved-up to sixth place. Newly promoted NSA Delta still closes the standings with 12 games lost. Levski will play against higher ranked Neftochimic (#3) in Burgas in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. NSA Delta will play at home against Dunav 8806 (#4) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
