Regular Season Round 16: Steaua CSM - CSU Sibiu 86-77

There was no surprise in Bucuresti where 5th ranked CSU Sibiu (10-6) was defeated by third ranked Steaua CSM (9-5) 86-77 on Tuesday. CSU Sibiu was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of American Bill Amis (206-87, college: Hawaii, agency: Pensack Sports) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 13 points, 13 rebounds and 4 blocks and Serbian forward Nikola Malesevic (202-89, college: Rhode Island, agency: BeoExcell) who added 22 points (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) during the contest. Four Steaua CSM players scored in double figures. At the losing side American guard Kevin Hardy (188-93, college: McNeese St.) responded with 21 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and Montenegrin center Boris Lalovic (208-81) scored 15 points and 5 rebounds. Despite that victory Steaua CSM went down to sixth position due to points difference. Loser CSU Sibiu dropped to the fourth place with six games lost. Steaua CSM will face higher ranked U-Banca TR (#3) in Cluj in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. CSU Sibiu will play on the road against CS Energia Rovinari Targu Jiu and hope to win that game.
