An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Karlsruhe. Second ranked BG Karlsruhe faced 3rd placed Fraport Skyliners II. Host BG Karlsruhe (12-3) defeated guests from Frankfurt (8-7) 76-69. It was a good game for American Marcus Smallwood (200-82, college: N.Illinois) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 13 rebounds. His fellow American import guard Hayden Lescault (196-92, college: Point Loma) contributed with 27 points (perfect behind the arc making all five shots) for the winners. Smallwood is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. BG Karlsruhe have a solid series of four victories in a row. They keep a position of South leader, which they share with Ehingen. Fraport Skyliners II at the other side dropped to the fourth place with seven games lost. They share the position with Elchingen and Leipzig. BG Karlsruhe will play against Weissenhorn Youngstars (#7) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Fraport Skyliners II will play against Wuerzburg and hopes to get back on the winning track.
