Ninth-ranked CAB Madeira (4-11) gave a tough game to fourth ranked Ovarense (9-7) on Saturday. Ovarense managed to secure only one-point victory 79-78. However their fans expected much easier game. The hosts trailed by 10 points after three quarters before their 33-22 charge, which allowed them to win the game. Ovarense forced 19 CAB Madeira turnovers. The best player for the winners was American guard Joseph Harris (196-87, college: Co.Carolina, agency: Dynamics Global Management) who had a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds. His fellow American import point guard Nick Novak (182-90, college: Pitt-Johnstown, agency: Dynamics Global Management) chipped in 15 points. Ovarense's coach Felix Alonso allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. International point guard Ricky Franklin (185-87, college: Wisc.-Milwaukee) produced 22 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and American swingman Jovonni Shuler (195-87, college: Savannah St., agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) added 12 points and 10 rebounds respectively for the guests.
