CD Povoa Esc Online are champions of the Portuguese Proliga, blowing out CAB Madeira 90-72 in the title-deciding game at the Pavilhao do Clube Desportivo Povoa on Sunday before 753 fans amid scenes of jubilant celebration. Scott Suggs (197-F/G-1989, college: Washington) led the rout with a game-high 28 points on 9-of-15 shooting, including 5-of-7 from three-point range, adding eight rebounds and four assists. Davide Buccilli (186-G-2003) was lethally efficient with 19 points on 8-of-13 from the field, while Jorge Rodrigues (187-PG-2003) provided 17 off the bench on 7-of-11 shooting. The trio powered an offense that drilled 14 three-pointers and got 33 points from its bench. Povoa set the tone from the opening tip with a dominant 30-13 first quarter and never looked back, leading by as many as 24 points. CAB Madeira rallied with a 27-21 third quarter to briefly close the gap, but Povoa restored control in the fourth to seal the 18-point triumph. For CAB Madeira, coached by Mario Fernandes, Bernardo Ferreira (173-G-2002) led with 16 points, while Jorge Embalo (195-F-1999, agency: Promo Sport ID) posted 11 points, eight rebounds, four assists, and four blocks for a team-high 24.5 efficiency.
