Important game to mention about took place in Nurnberg. Third ranked SC Rasta Vechta (13-3) saved a 3-point victory on the road edging 9th ranked Nuernberg (9-9) 84-81 on Saturday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. SC Rasta Vechta made 24-of-29 charity shots (82.8 percent) during the game. They also forced 21 Nuernberg turnovers. Nuernberg was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. American point guard Carlos Medlock (183-87, college: E.Michigan) scored 32 points, 5 assists and 5 steals to lead the charge for the winners and naturalized Filipino forward Christian Standhardinger (203-89, college: Hawaii) chipped in 16 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Four SC Rasta Vechta players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was center Robert Oehle (209-88, agency: Octagon Europe) with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 12 rebounds and guard Mauricio Marin (193-94) scored 21 points. Nuernberg's coach Ralph Junge rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. SC Rasta Vechta have an impressive six-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place. Nuernberg at the other side keeps the ninth position with nine games lost. They share it with Chemnitz. SC Rasta Vechta will play against Gladiators (#7) in Trier in the next round where they are favorite. Nuernberg will play on the road against MLP Academics Heidelberg and hopes to get back on the winning track.
