Tenth-ranked ChemCats Chemnitz (3-12) was very close to win a game against third ranked Gruner Stern Keltern (11-4). Gruner Stern Keltern managed to secure only three-point victory 54-51. However their fans expected much easier game. It looked good early as ChemCats Chemnitz took a 1-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Gruner Stern Keltern had a 12-10 second period charge getting the lead and ChemCats Chemnitz was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 51-54. The best player for the winners was American center Stephanie Madden (186-88, college: Langston) who had a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 rebounds. French point guard Magali Mendy (178-90) chipped in 9 points and 7 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Bosnian forward Lejla Bejtic (174-85) who recorded 8 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and American guard Sara Halasz (180-90, college: N.Mexico) added 10 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Newly promoted Gruner Stern Keltern maintains third place with 11-4 record having four points less than leader Wasserburg, which they share with Herner. ChemCats Chemnitz lost third consecutive game. They keep the tenth position with 12 games lost. Gruner Stern Keltern's next round opponent will be bottom-ranked Osnabruck (#12) on the road and are hoping to win another game. ChemCats Chemnitz will play against SV Halle Lions and hope to win that game.
