Second Stage Round 2: Silute - Ezerunas-Karys 89-78

Rather expected game when 12th ranked Ezerunas-Karys (9-19) was defeated on the road by tenth ranked Silute (12-16) 89-78 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Silute. Ezerunas-Karys was better in fourth quarter 28-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Ezerunas-Karys 41-25 including a 27-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Silute looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Edvinas Alunderis (202-92) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds and swingman Tomas Lekunas (201-93) who added 15 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists during the contest. Five Silute players scored in double figures. At the losing side center Edgaras Sosnovskis (206-91) responded with 14 points and 6 rebounds and Andrius Juknevicius (192-92) scored 14 points and 4 assists. Silute moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Nafta-Uni. Loser Ezerunas-Karys keeps the twelfth position with 19 games lost. Silute will face Nafta-Uni. (#9) in Klaipeda in the next round.
